Day 1. Arrival in Paro:

Upon arrival at Paro airport, you will be greeted by your Bhutanese guide from Imperial Lotus Tours and transferred to your hotel. After lunch, start your tour with a visit to Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower that now houses the National Museum of Bhutan. Later, explore Paro Rimpung Dzong, a fortress that was built in 1646. Spend the night in your hotel.

Day 2. Paro:

After breakfast, take a morning excursion to Taktshang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. This iconic monastery clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below. After lunch, visit the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan. Spend another night in your Paro hotel.

Day 3. Paro – Thimphu: (1 Hour)

After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. En route, stop at Sangaygang viewpoint for a panoramic view of Thimphu valley. Visit the Takin Preserve Centre to see Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Then, visit the Drupthob Lhakhang and National Memorial Chorten in honour of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. After lunch, explore the National Library and Zorig Chusum (The School of Thirteen Arts). Visit the Traditional Medicine Institute and Folk Heritage Museum, followed by an evening visit to Tashichho Dzong. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 4. Thimphu – Punakha – Wangduephodrang: (2-3 Hours)

After breakfast, drive to Punakha. Stop at Dochula Pass for a view of the higher Himalayas. Visit Chhimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. After lunch, explore the Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most impressive architectural wonders. Drive to Wangduephodrang, where you will visit a local village and meet with the locals. Spend the night in Wangduephodrang.

Day 5. Wangduephodrang – Phobjikha – Gangtey: (2 Hours)

After breakfast, visit Wangduephodrang Dzong before heading to Gangtey. After lunch, explore Gangtey Gompa, a beautiful temple founded in 1613 by Gyaltse Pema Thinley. Later, explore the Phobjikha Valley, which is one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in the Himalayas and a winter home for the endangered Black Necked Cranes. Spend the night in Gangtey.

Day 6. Gangtey – Thimphu: (4-5 Hours)

After breakfast, drive back to Thimphu. After lunch, visit the Royal Silver Smiths and Bhutanese Paper Factory, followed by shopping for souvenirs in the shops of Thimphu. Spend the night in Thimphu.

Day 7. Departure:

After breakfast, transfer to Paro Airport for your departure flight. Bid farewell to the beautiful land of Bhutan and the Imperial Lotus Tours team.
